Malawi Education Project: The UK is the world's 4th richest country. Malawi is the 5th poorest. Let's share
About us
The Malawi Education Project is a small Bristol based non-profit NGO, sending quality educational materials that are surplus to requirement in the UK to Malawi, where we install small libraries into rural schools and communities. The majority of the resources shipped are books, as well as some stationary, sports equipment and musical instruments. These much needed resources vastly help improve the quality and standard of education of many young people in rural areas, in one of the world's most beautiful yet least developed countries.

Project's Future:
We've proved this project works and it has already directly benefited a lot of Malawian people. We're doing some serious fundraising now and establishing a stronger backbone to the organisation. The next container load goes out at the end of 2008, with installation commencing in rural locations from Jan 2009. We are aiming to ship a 20ft container once annually from then on, increasing as we can manage to, each of which will produce 15-20 libraries.
