We are looking for people to fulfil various roles with various skills to come out to Malawi from November 2008, ongoing into the future of the project. We have a lot of setting up to do in 2008 and 2009, which will require an assortment of skills and experienced people, so if you?re interested in applying for voluntary position out there, please contact us. Ideally the minimum length of time out there will be 3 months, but in some cases this is negotiable.



The Malawi Education Project is proud to introduce our 'Sponsor a Box' appeal... An easy way to help us towards the cost of our project.

In October 2008, we will be shipping a 20ft container packed to the seams with Educational Resources, bound for Malawi Central Africa. The majority of the container will be made up of school textbooks packed into 1ft square boxes.

Sponsoring one of these boxes costs only £45.

That covers the cost of moving a selection of quality learning materials over 5000 miles and delivering them to carefully selected schools, a small part of a library that will open up a world of knowledge to children, young adults and even teachers.

We are looking to find sponsors for 200 boxes.

Sponsoring a box is a great way to directly help people in Africa access information and education in a way that is currently extremely difficult to find.

It is a simple idea. The Malawi Education Project relocates resources that have high educational value but are surplus from this country and aims provide a resource of books and learning materials.

By individuals and groups taking on a small chunk of the cost of administering and transporting the materials, we are able to reach the total needed much quicker.

You can sponsor a box by donating £45 online via paypal, or send a cheque payable to Malawi Education Project marked 'sponsor a box' on the back.

We encourage groups and schools to challenge themselves to raise enough money to fund several boxes. It is also a great idea to take photographs of how you raised the money to send with the boxes that you sponsor, along with letters or messages to the students of the schools.

Please help us by fundraising for as many boxes as possible!
