With roots in Music Festival Production, Lou was inspired to create an organisation to assist education in Malawi after a working trip to Zambia as an organiser of Solipse Festival 2001. She founded MEP with the support of Malawian friend Brighten Ndawala in 2005

Brighten has been a friend of Lou's since 2001, and has been the key player in research and communications from Malawi. Brighten is learning the workings of the project in Malawi, whilst running and developing the primary school library. Based in Cape Maclear, Malawi.
